Child & Adult Care Food Program

Child and Adult Care Food Program

The Child and Adult Care Food Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the CACFP is to improve the nutritional quality of meals served to children by regulated family child care providers.

As greater numbers of young children are in child care, this program becomes more important in helping to assure that infants, toddlers, and young children get meals that are nutritious.

How will Participating in the Child Care Food Program Help the Children in my Care?
By being a CACFP provider, you are ensuring that the children in your care are receiving nutritious meals. It has been proven that children who maintain a well-balanced diet, with plenty of fruits and vegetables, perform better in school. As a CACFP provider, you will be providing the proper diet which will aid in the intellectual development of the children in your care.
