Looking for child care can be difficult and is one of the most important decisions a family will make. Child Care Link is committed to helping families find child care that best meets their needs.
Child Care Link maintains a database of child care programs and providers for the following counties and cities: Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke County, Covington, Danville, Martinsville, Radford, Roanoke City, and Salem. We help families take the guesswork out of choosing care by providing referrals, information on state licensing requirements, availability of child care subsidies, and other pertinent information. Child Care Link provides this personalized guidance by phone, in person, and on the internet. We make it easier for families to select a child care program/provider based on what is important to the individual family. We work cooperatively with all types of child care programs/providers, and do not discriminate in referrals based on race, sex, age, or national origin. Quality of programs/providers may vary; we cannot endorse or recommend any child care program/provider.
There are three ways for parents to receive free referrals from us. Call or visit our local office for our Customized Referral Service, or complete a Child Care Search form and submit it, or if you wish, you can complete your search online.
Please note that we only refer to child care providers in our coverage area. If you are looking for care in another area, visit the Child Care Aware web site to locate the CCR&R nearest you.
Customized Referrals — Let us do the work
Our most complete service is offered if you call or visit our local office. Our friendly staff will take ten to fifteen minutes to gather information on your child care needs. Then, they will offer referrals that meet your needs.
Advantages of the customized service include:
- Detailed printouts for each referral are mailed to you.
- We can search based on criteria not available using the on-line method. For example, if you need transportation from a specific school, have a child with allergies or need a child care facility open on holidays, etc. we will search on those criteria.
- Finally, we can answer any questions you may have about child care in your community.
