Prevention and Care

Information and education are essential in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Our testing, education, and care services are free and confidential to all.

Prevention

Testing and Contraceptives

We provide easy access to the following testing and contraceptive options:

  • OraQuick Rapid Finger-Stick HIV Test*
  • OraSure Finger-Stick HCV Test
  • Latex condoms and barriers
  • Polyurethane (latex-free) condoms and barriers

These tests are highly accurate and can produce results in under 20 minutes. All testing, as well as all condoms and barriers, are free and confidential to receive. There is no appointment necessary to be tested or to obtain contraceptives.

*The OraQuick test is more than 99% accurate at detecting HIV antibodies if they are present. The body can take 3-6 months to start producing these antibodies after the contraction of HIV. Someone who has contracted HIV may not test positive for up to 6 months and certain medications can cause even more of a delay. During your testing session, you will be asked about these specific medications. It is important to be honest about your medical history.

What if I test positive?

If you test positive for HIV/HCV, we can help link you with the medical treatment you need. Learn more about our Patient Navigator Program below.
